Yes… FullText Search would be nice. I however would see MySQL to implement full text search on the top level and make interface all storage… related feature 
Also if you’re looking to do full text search with Innodb you may give a try to http://www.sphinxsearch.com… types and is normally much faster than build in FullText search. The integration is not as seemless as with build in…
